The perfect all-rounders in corrosive environments
Our GUARD.X Fibre Composite Sliding Bearings are used in special industrial applications, such as ship cranes or construction equipment. The composition of the material contributes to the fact that this product is ideally suited for use in corrosive environments, such as seawater, and in acidic environments. The filament-wound sliding bearing stands out for its freedom from maintenance, corrosion resistance, and low coefficient of friction. Due to the special fibre matrix structure in combination with the Teflon® liner, both edge pressure and impacts are absorbed very well. Lohmann offers its customers, not least because of its tube processing on site, an extremely flexible delivery performance. As a rule, dimensions in accordance with DIN ISO 3547 and also with DIN ISO 4379 are available. We can manufacture cylindrical sliding bearings as well as thrust washers made from epoxy resin sheets with reinforcements in glass fibre.
Material Composition of sliding layer
The sliding layer consists of PTFE and high-strength fibres continuously wound and encapsulated in a filled, lubricated high-temperature epoxy resin.
Material Composition of reinforcement / backing
The fibre composite sliding bearing has a fibreglass reinforcement on the outside, which is manufactured using a winding process with high-temperature epoxy resin for the individual use according to DIN ISO 4379 or DIN ISO 3547. Customized outer diameters resp. contours are also possible.
Characteristics of the fiber composite sliding bearing
- maintenance-free
- no stick-slip effect
- high resistance against corrosion
- high edge load capacity
- noise-absorbing
- suitable for micro-movements
- low moisture absorption
- high impact resistance
- high weather resistance
