Maintenance-free sliding elements are used today in a wide range of applications in the entire field of mechanical engineering. They have proven particularly useful wherever hydrodynamic lubrication cannot be established, low sliding speeds are present, or high impact loads occur. Maintenance-free slide bearings are characterised by a long service life, freedom from maintenance and excellent sliding properties, thus meeting the high operational requirements. Integrated solid lubricant depots ensure an optimal distribution of the sliding film, thus separating the sliding partners from each other and preventing the so-called stick-slip effect. For special applications, the plain bearing can be coated with an additional running-in film that supports the running-in phase and reduces friction.
