Self-lubricating sintered bearings
The SELFOIL® Self-Lubricating Sintered Bearings are porous metallic components made of bronze or iron, impregnated with a lubricant oil. The oil contained in the porosity provides a constant lubrication between bearing and shaft, so the system does not need any additional external lubricant.
Applications
- Automotive equipment: starters, electric windows, pedals, wipers, fuel systems, cooling systems, Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR), brakes, transmission, mirrors, sunroof, seating systems, etc.
- Medium and low power electric motors and gearboxes.
- Linear and rotary actuators: pneumatic, hydraulic and electromagnetic types.
- Household appliances: washing machines, fans, extractor fans, shaving machines, epilators, juicers, rotisserie, air conditioning, portable machine tools, coffee machines, whisking machines, vacuum cleaners, lawnmowers, boilers, etc.
- Home appliances: locks, garage doors, awnings, roller shutters, sliding doors/windows, office swivel chairs, rolling trolley wheels, hinges, furniture, etc.
- Industrial sector: bottling machinery, wood-working machinery, anemometers, gardening, automatisms, key duplicating machines, sewing machines, industrial vehicles, electrical switchgear, etc.
- Other markets: mobility, medical, catering, industrial machines, farm machinery, toys, etc
Performance
- Extremely low noise
- Very high dimensional precision
- Dynamic load up to 10 MPa (100 kg/cm²).
- Linear speed up to 5 m/s (30,000 r.p.m. maximum).
- Working temperature from -20 °C to +120 °C.
Sintered metal filters
The filters and sound absorbers of the AmesPore® series are porous sintered metal components made of bronze or stainless steel with a high porosity of between 25 and 60 % by volume. They are manufactured from metal powder using powder metallurgy technology.
Applications
- Liquid filtration: automotive engineering, shipbuilding, aeronautics, railway engineering, industrial machinery, domestic appliances, radiators, chemical and petrochemical industries, nuclear industry, food and beverage industry, water treatment, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, recycling of catalysts, hydrogen purification, bacterial ultrafiltration, clinical analyses, heating burners, packaging manufacture, etc.
- Pressure drop: pressure control in pneumatic and hydraulic circuits (balancers, bleeders, regulators), silencing of compressed gases (sound absorbers), pneumatic jacks, protection of sensors and gauges, gearmotors, moulds, measuring instruments, etc.
- Flow control: heat exchangers, medical gases, industrial gases, evaporators, submarine applications, sprayers, measuring devices, etc.
- Liquefaction: transport of powdery solids such as cement, flour, aluminium oxide, ash, toner powder, fumigation, etc.
- Moisture protection: drying in general, protection against condensation in electronic devices, etc.
- Flashback arrestor: heaters, gas burners, welding equipment, etc.
Performance
- Increased filter performance. Microporosity and filter depth ensure high particle retention.
- Consistent behaviour, as they have a uniform porosity throughout the entire filter volume.
- High mechanical strength. They can be used under high pressure conditions without deforming or wearing. They are impact resistant (without embrittlement).
- Thermal resistance up to 600 °C in oxidising atmosphere, and up to 850 °C in reducing atmosphere.
- High chemical resistance: stainless-steel filters in particular are resistant to corrosion from a wide range of liquids and gases.
- They are recyclable and thus offer a long service life. They can be cleaned using counterflow or solvents.
- They can be welded and machined, making them suitable for customised assemblies.
- Thanks to their increased rigidity, they behave like self-supporting structural elements.
